[02 Sep 2009|12:28pm] |
However, I am working at DTR Webzine with communications.
I got a full-time job at Portrait Innovations and I start next week.
I am also working on my personal web site, trying to develop a portfolio, and it's taking more time than I anticipated. Hopefully it will end up better than anticipated, too.

Go back to the earliest entry you made in your livejournal on today's date of the first year you had your LJ. What were you dealing with then? Have you changed in that time? If there is no entry for that particular day, find the closest one to it.
Today, 2006:
"...FUCK YOU..."
How very vague of me. That hasn't changed. Although, I have no idea what this referring to from the text itself, the comments fill me in. Apparently it was referring to the fact that I can't find a job (hasn't changed), I have no money to spend to do anything (hasn't really changed) and the guy that I was talking to was a dick (that one has changed. I like the guy I'm talking to now (and happened to hook up with later in that summer anyway - so things changed kinda and definitely, there).
Although, if this were an immediate "fuck you" it would probably be to the lights which don't want to stay up. Hello, thumbtacks.

do the helen keller and talk with your hips.
also, helen keller's dog might have killed itself because it's name was hfalfjalkhfasdjhal, but after last night's discussion, i think its name was ::smack smack smack:: on the face!

"i've had it with this monkey fighting snakes on this monday to friday plane?" Dude you gotta love TV curse-dubbing. Yea man.
I wish I had a cool secret handshake. I wouldn't tell anybody about it. I'm gonna make one up. One day. Maybe this summer, in addition to my personal project - although, I don't know what that project is.
AIM EXPRESS. I haven' thought about that in a real long time.
Trader Joes Pad Prik-Khig is not worth it and not even close to the real thing... It's not SPICY!
I wish I had an awesome revelations in my life.
Also, pie. Chocolate peanut butter pie from brian.
I can't believe there's a reality show called the cougar. that's fucked up.
i'm going back with down the road in the summer (mmm, sprinkles). non-paying, but it's media-related.
i love this commercial. i get it.
and i can't find it. i want food.

man, i've been waiting for this for a long time, and suddenly it's inconvenient.
oh well...
losing your cell phone happens. whatevs. most of the time i want to chuck it against a wall. but it's nice sometimes, too.
especially when your dad is in town... at a hotel. and you have no means of contacting him.
or when you want to say goodnight to someone special.
i've seen so many random little things today that i just wanted to tell someone about, but i couldn't. and i don't even remember most of them.
test of memory... or unimportance?
doesn't matter. it's still kind of sad how attached i am to stupid technology.
and worse, my mom. "how do i get in contact with you... you know.. in case of an emergency?"
in the off-chance that happens... i'll borrow somebody's... and there's a pay phone up the street.
from a review of 'my so-called life' in the new york times:
It seems worth noting that the very first words in the debut episode of “My So-Called Life” are: “Excuse me? Can you spare some change for a phone call?” A teenager before the era of cellphones and e-mailing, Angela got to move freely, beyond the parental surveillance systems so methodically deployed today. Angela’s father, Graham (Tom Irwin), and her mother, Patty (Bess Armstrong), did not know where she was every minute or what her friends were all about or to whom they genetically belonged; they were products of the post-therapeutic age, but they disciplined and worried and set rules, and sometimes Angela lied and broke them.
it kinda makes you think?
we wanted cell phones... they were cool. i never expected one... i got handed a big clunker in high school, and would trudge it around... in disbelief that it was mine. and most of the time, i used it to call my parents.
now, it's an entirely different idea. and a lot of younger people feel naked or stunted without it.
hello, freedom.

I have so much to do. And I have so little time. Here I am writing an entry in my livejournal.
And I'm even two lazy for that.
Just so everyone knows. I am broken when it comes to school. I am happy in a relationship. And completely jobless.
Bah.

| Important Rule of the World #1 |
[01 Apr 2009|10:18pm] |
Don't be an asshole (unless it's necessary).
This rule applies to anyone who is being an asshole, even if they are unintentionally doing so.
For instance, you are planning to live with someone who currently does not live in the area and you need to put in an application and sign a lease (preferably all together, as you will all be living together). So, while there was the opportunity to hand in the application on the Thursday the traveling person came up, but another roommate had class, so the traveler had no plans the next day (outside of working that evening). The traveler waits for you and the other roommate to be ready to go, and ended up being near late to work.
So, when someone caves once, you can't expect them to do so again. That's not nice. It might be something an asshole would do.
Unfortunately, that's what seems to be the case again. The traveler may have a free day from work, but that doesn't mean a lease signing was her only plan. With the previous circumstance (see last two paragraphs), one should not be expected to bend the plans that allowed for them to be in the area in the first place.
That being said, this is the last time that the traveler may be in town before the move-in. But, with more than 2 weeks notice, you still manage to find an excuse of some sort to make things convenient for yourself.
And so, when you are an asshole, you are a problem.
Don't be part of the problem, world. Be part of the solution!

[24 Mar 2009|02:48pm] |
So I was in the car today, on the way home from school. It's nice outside. Well, it looks nice in any case. So I got to thinking.
Science.
Science is cool, but it's not for me. It's one thing to be curious, and curious I am. But for me, I think science takes things a little too far and leaves no room for the imagination.
However, I am curious. I love colors, and I want to conduct a little test.
Sean is colorblind... I want to know if he likes what he sees. I want to give him a coloring book, and color to his hearts content. The way things would look pretty for him.
I don't think he'll color... but he should.
It's for the sake of Shlee-science.

Well, I don't even recall how my last entry looked.
Anyway, it's been a decent - LONG - week. Zodiac and Wham City adventures.
More importantly, I've never heard those three little words romantically. But guess what? I know they're bubbling under the surface.
Again. So happy.

i do this thing inadvertently...
when i become interested in something i like to share. generally what happens, is one person takes that interest of mine and becomes exponentially more interested than me.
it's kind of depressing.
